Imagine waking up and not hitting the snooze button a million times before jumping out of bed and rushing around to get ready for the day ahead.
Imagine if your day started with a nice morning walk, time to sit and enjoy a morning coffee while reading whatever book it is your currently reading, or be able to get an hour of self-development work in before getting ready for the day ahead.
What would your life look like in 1 year, 5 years or even 10 years from now if you were able to dedicate an hour every morning to yourself, your state of mind, your development, think about all the things you could achieve in the next 10 years
Imagine being able to do the things you said you would do regardless of how you feel. Discipline is the ability to quieten the inner voice and do it regardless of how you feel, regardless of the weather, leaving all the excuses behind and getting on with the task at hand…
” we can either have excuses or results but we can’t have both”
Imagine your life 5 years from now if you had the discipline to see things through and not give up on things at the first sign of difficulty which is why it’s so important to have a strong why, as victor Frankel says in his book man search for meaning “Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how
“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.” – Jim Rohn.
What is your why?

Why is it you are looking to become more self-disciplined?
What are you hoping to achieve by having more discipline in your life?
finding our why is so important, when we have a higher purpose other than ourselves when the times get tough and we feel like quitting it’s our why and higher purpose which is going to pull us through that tough time…
What gets you out of bed in the morning, not just your alarm clock but at the weekend, what is your motivation to get up when you’ve not got work in the morning?
When we are doing things which are aligned with our values and are true to our authentic selves we won’t need external motivation to do the things we say we should, ought or have to do. We will be intrinsically motivated to do it,..
What you do when nobody is watching is a true representation of who you really are, what we practice is private is what we are rewarded for in public.
“There are two great days in a person’s life – the day we are born and the day we discover why”
William Barclay
Do You Want Results Or Are You Happy With Excuses?

As Arnold Schwarzenegger has said multiple times in his lifetime “You can have results or excuses. Not both.” When we start taking ownership of our own lives and responsibility for our choices its amazing what a different perspective we can see things from.
If we are to put the blame on everybody else all the time we then are leaving things up to everybody else, when you expect everything to be handed to you on the plate life will always seem difficult and they’ll always be someone to blame.
If we can take responsibility for our own life and choices it’s then down to us to make things happen, for instance, if you park next to someone in the supermarket and then ding your car with their door, instead of getting angry at them take a breath, take responsibility for it at as your choices at it was your choice to park there
Getting up for work every day, you choose to work there, maybe your saying but I have to work to pay the bills and for the house I live in, again, it’s all choices you choose to live in the house you live in and alot of the time your expenses are because of the choices you have made…
Maybe you get sacked from your job, take ownership of that situation because again, you chose to work there…
Our lives revolve around our life choices, we can either sit back and wait and hope for things to happen for us or we can work on making them happen every single day.
Are you hoping to win the lottery? are you living your life on hope and wishes or can you make moves every day to better your life by investing in yourself and your education…are you investing in your future by putting money into assets which will grow your money
Why leave things down to chance, especially when it comes to the lottery, why leave it to a 1 in 139,838,160 chance
Getting back on the topic of discipline, when we are able to do things regardless of how we feel will ultimately lead to results.
How to become more disciplined
- Start by finding your why
- Lose the excuses
- Set a Big goal, break it down into smaller more manageable goals (don’t forget to celebrate the smaller wins)
- Practise discipline every single day, we aren’t born disciplined, its something that is learnt and honed over time (quieten the inner voice which is coming up with 1000 excuses and do it anyway)
- Remember the days you want to do it the least are the days you need to do it the most
